Creators, assemble! The LEGO Group has released Infinity Stone Heist, a brand new digital series that started out as a prompt on our LEGO World Builder platform and was brought to life on Tongal by animator Kevin Ulrich. If you haven't seen it yet, you check it out right here! We caught up with the Architect behind this short, Canadian LEGO Fan Holly Caie, to talk bricks, mechs, and more!

Luke Johnson: So, first things first, Tell us a little about yourself and how your interest in LEGO began.

Holly Caie: My name is Holly. Ever since I was young I’ve loved to build and make things, and LEGO quickly became one of my favourite ways to create. I started out with a bunch of loose bricks and I would build houses, cars, rockets, and anything else I could think of. As I got older, I started building more with entire sets. To this day, I still love playing with LEGO!

LJ: Infinity Stone Heist has such a wonderful plot twist, quite literally turning the idea of mecha on its head –– how did you come up with this idea?

HC: It was actually the one of first things that came to me! I was thinking about how cool the LEGO World Builder prompt was, and then the thought popped into my head: “what if the mechs weren’t on their side?” It would present the Avengers with a whole unique set of challenges.

LJ: You had the chance to work with Tongal and the LEGO Group to bring your story concept to life as a digital short. What was this experience like?

HC: It’s been incredible. I was so excited when I first saw the email about the LEGO Group's interest in my World! It has been so amazing working with Tongal and the LEGO Group, and seeing the journey from a World on Lego World Builder to a digital short. I’m so grateful to everyone who has worked on bringing it to life.

LJ: What's your favorite part about being a LEGO Fan?

HC: The way it brings people together! My brother and I have always been huge LEGO fans, and it’s been something that we have shared since we were kids. LEGO is something that will be fun no matter how old you are, and I think pretty much anyone would have a good time building or playing with it. I’m going to be playing with it for the rest of my life!

LJ: So, what’s next for you? Do you have anything else in the works on LEGO World Builder?

HC: I have another World in progress called Titans. It’s about a fallen kingdom which was once populated by an advanced civilization who used giant robots (known as Titans). That was long ago and the kingdom has become a dystopian wasteland, but a scavenger comes across a broken Titan and finds himself caught up in an unexpected adventure. I’m still looking for ideas, so it’s not done yet, but I’m excited to see what kind of direction it will go in! I’m also working on a space-themed World, but it is in the very early stages, so I haven’t decided much about it yet. I’m also thinking about some ideas for Pitch Fest!

Speaking of Pitch Fest, entries are now closed, at least for this year, but there’s still plenty of time to contribute your skills and ideas to the entrants! Check out the full details over on LEGO World Builder.
