Story: Calling Your Bluff
While negotiating starting salary, applicant fudges the amount of her most recent salary, says the boss can call her previous employer and gives the boss a phone number to call. The boss immediately calls the number and the applicant's cell phone rings. She says it's an emergency and ducks below the desk to take the call. She disguises her voice and pretends to be her previous employer while the new boss just stares at her in disbelief.
