ABOUT
Vishwanand “V” Shetti works using various visual media. He grew up drawing and painting yet found himself with a bunch of short films and a Computer Science degree. V worked on movie and music video crews in LA, starting out in props and art direction and later transitioning into editing. V earned his Masters in Visualization while shooting and editing many collaborations, including performances, installations, exhibits, and other commissioned videos. In the recent past while teaching in Austin, V has shot and edited feature films, web docs, and a handful of music videos while also dabbling in digital photography and illustration.

Most of the video projects on Tongal now use the Pitch phase. I'm just curious why a brand would prefer that over just going from the Idea Phase to the Video Phase. I realize they are getting a more developed concept etc. but it seems the Pitch Phase trend is taking the "Crowd" out of crowdsourcing.

Tongal has always been an iterative platform and the Pitch Phase is simply the next logical step in our process. From a brand perspective, the Pitch phase allows for more fully developed, "on-equity" creative to emerge, which means more potential applications and uses for the content.

From a creative standpoint, it means guaranteed payment, increased client feedback and greater exposure for the producer. We think it has, therefore, created a win-win situation for both sides of the equation.
