ABOUT
Goals
I currently use two Flip Mino's to film my videos (one is HD, the other is not) and iMovie to edit and produce them. In the near future, I hope to produce a full-length film, but I can't do that the way I want with what I have now. My "to-buy-when-I-have-the-money" list includes a Macbook Pro, Final Cut Studio (express if I don't have the cash), a sony Handycam (better than a flip mino, but I won't be able to afford anything better), and a few other expensive softwares. In order to achieve these goals, I need to obtain a lot of money. I currently referee for soccer and I am thinking about a part-time summer job. But, my main focus is video contests. That is why I joined Tongal.
Background
At the age of 7, I got my own video camera for christmas. With my friends, we made a trilogy of "action movies" using windows movie maker. After finishing the videos, I moved on to an interest in animation. Pivot Stick Animator is what I used to create a 6 minute long "massive action animation" including over 20 different stick characters as well as 6 aliens (numbers are close estimations). Later, I created a series of two animations based off of a youtube animation. It did end up on youtube at the age of 12 or 13. Soon after, I lost my interest in animation due to the not so good combination between my young age and the complexity (and price) of advanced animation software. So, I reverted back to filmmaking and entered a video contest for a Beta Key for the computer game called "Battlefield Heroes." This was only when I was around 12 years old. Unfortunately, I did not win, but that was not the end to my videos. I created a video project for my 8th grade language arts class using my cell phone. It was a rap for a book, and the scene was my local super target. This was my fourth video I uploaded to youtube. Next came a new youtube channel. Instead of "Redheadfire00" (my old aim account), I created and used Redheadcompany (as you can tell, I have red hair). As of April 1st, I have 22 videos uploaded. Most of them are random, but nearly all but 2 or 3 were edited videos. I have yet to create the action movie I have previews for on my channel. In the past year, I've entered a few contests, which I won none of. The first was in the summer of 2009. The Pepsi Rock Band video contest, which my friends and I had lots of fun with. Then came "Viralskool's Viral Video Contest" which, again, I had lots of fun, but didn't win. I have also entered a few smaller contests and created school projects, which some of are on my channel, but others are on my mac mini. Recently, I created a contest for a beta key for the game called "Battlefield Bad Company 2." Originally, it was going to be a video contest, but then I changed it to a raffle at the last second. I created three videos for this contest, but only two made it to youtube. I am planning on making money to advance my filming equipment, but this has been explained above in my goals.
