A group of "Retired" mobile devices sit in a dimly lit space (drawer, closet, etc.) and reminisce about the old times when they were the newest thing and now they are forgotten. Suddenly a bright light appears from above. We hear heavenly music. A hand reaches down and grabs one, raising it up into the light. "There's a better place for your old mobile devices." "The Shack, Trade n Save Program"

Give your old friends new lives

My idea is to create cute characters out of real old devices and stop animate them in a real home environment. While stop motion is usually time consuming, these characters are simple to animate, yet very effective. As a professional animator, I will have no trouble completing this in the allotted 2 weeks. *Please note that the animatic is drawn, but the final product will be stop motion video, the music is temporary and there will be a voice over once I hire an actor! I'm excited! Thank you!

Hear the BUZZ?

Pete surfs online for new gear. A buzzing old cell phone flutters in front of him like a fly. Several more devices follow and swarm. Pete, grabs a net, swings and catches the devices. Cut to: Inside RadioShack. Pete places a mason jar full of lit buzzing old electronics on the counter. The clerk gives Pete a warm smile. Voice Over while Pete looks around at merchandise. "Did you hear the buzz? Upgrade with RadioShack’s Trade & Save Program! TRADE your old gear and SAVE BIG on electronics!"

Cool Guy

The concept of the commercial is that technology doesn't age well. Unlike a fine wine, technology gets worse over time. Something that was cool a couple years ago can be the source of embarrassment today. The commercial will follow an office worker's realization that his old phone is no longer cool. Tongue and cheek voice over will reinforce this message. In the end, he will discover Radio Shack's Trade & Save program. With his new phone in hand he will return to the office and regain his cool.
