PHASE 1: CONCEPT - In 250 Characters or less, set up a scene that incorporates the MacGruber character(s) and one of the lines of dialogue that we’ve supplied. Don’t get too specific, but create a solid, funny framework for other people to interpret. Concepts will receive a 5% residual payment on future winnings. Winners announced on March 30, 2010.
PHASE 2: VIDEO - Select one of the 5 winning Concepts and make a MacGruber short up to 90 seconds in length. You can, but do not have to literally interpret every bit of the concept. Think of it as a framework with a general theme that you should work within. Video winners will be announced on May 17, 2010 at iamrogue.com/macgruber
--Note: Your submissions will be judged on their own merit, i.e. how well do they stand alone as a concept and how well they set up multiple video interpretations—NOT how well they “guess” what happens in the actual scene from “MacGruber.”
--Special Prize: In addition to the cash prize, the 1st Place Video Winner will also receive a “Hometown Screening” of MacGruber, provided by Universal Pictures and Rogue Pictures.
PHASE 3: PREDICTION - Watch all the Videos and try to Predict which ones will win the contest.
