Ideally, yes, but you will fine as long as you do not exceed the time limit by 10% the length of the total piece.

Hi! Can a wildcard submission be based on one of the winning concepts? Or does it have to be completely original? Also, I only recently acknowledged that production kits are available to help wildcard entries. Would it still be possible to ask for one? Thanks!

It can either be based on a winning concept or entirely new. Also you need to email samples@tongal.com ASAP if you want a kit.

Hey Caleb, I got the production kit today, which is awesome. Surge is missing, though. It doesn't matter to me, I'll be fine using the other characters-- just wanted to let you know in case someone else was wondering why they got 2 or Surges or something. : )

Hi Paul, at this point, you will be submitting a wildcard to the video phase, so based off a pre-existing concept or not, you are competing for a single spot 1st through 7th.

Hi, for those of us looking to try and shoot without the kit, which version of Rocka is the preferred one, Rocka, Rocka 3.0 or Rocka XL? Also, are you able to disclose which other characters (3 more good guys, 4 bad) were in the kit?

Original Rocka, I believe. The other heroes are Evo, Surge and Furno. The four villains are Toxic Reapa, Black Phantom, Jawblade, and Splitface.

Caleb, I thought there were 5 pitch awards and 10 video awards? What happened? What's with changing things mid-contest? That doesn't seem right or fair. If they want to add 2 more rewards for pitch phase, they should add 2 more awards for video.

Sponsors can always change the structure of a project phase before it opens, but not during or after. The Pitches in this round were really strong and due to the level of difficulty associated with this type of work, it made more sense to increase the pitch winners and reduce wildcards.

It doesn't make sense to me. I was excited that there would be 5 videos purchased from non-pitch winners. I'm sure a lot of other creators probably were excited too. Now with only one non-pitch winner, what's the point? Seems like amateur creators no longer matter to Tongal.

I've confirmed that the sponsor is confortable with this idea so long as they are background type images (i.e. mini figure innocent bystander caught in background with face blurred or something). Does that make sense?

May I know what is included in the production kit? I intend to build the CG character in the video, I plan to get a head start whether I should hunt for the toy in my local store? Also can we use ANY of the character in HERO FACTORY? Or just Rocka & Black Phantom?
