Cut to driving down a road, A’s are falling from road signs, eventually the car itself disappears leaving driver on ground. Pull out to map of world – countries start to disappear. Becomes globe, continents disappear followed by the earth, stars and finally galaxy. Eventually everything comes back because we do have A. We end on same girl reading. Reveal she is in Africa vitamin A program works.

I could draw out this concept on a whiteboard, chalkboard, or sketchpad style animation. I think this could be a fantastic way to elucidate the concept. At each word, I could erase a, and the thing could go through an interesting transformation. The reaction by the people would be funny and make the point that the "A" is very important to our world. The narration would be a gentle, childlike voice or a cool, young adult style voice. The music would be friendly and laid back.

In a class filled with kindergarten kids, the most loved song is the Alphabet song! The teacher begins to sing and starts with the letter B, mutiny slowly ensues... A cacophony of letters and disjointed harmonies in high pitched voices join in, confused expressions turn to angry and disappointed faces. The song ends abruptly as the kids band together in protest! The teacher confused watches as they exit the class and march through the school hallway, singing 'We want A!'

I'd like to take a slightly different approach to this concept. I'd assemble a diverse group of kids and shoot each one individually in front of a white cyc wall in contrasty black and white attempting to spell words without the "A". In candid moments we capture them looking confused, stumbling to make it through the words. One even says "I can't do it" and walks off. Close with kids stating the key message behind vitamin angels and how viewers can help reduce VAD by sharing the video.

The Norman Invasion
This is a fun idea that could could play in a ton of scenarios- but rather than staging/faking it, I think it would be funnier and more poignant to document two funny people really trying to avoid entire words that use "a"- and to do it as a competition. It would give it a really great viral-video quality, and a true feeling of fun & spontaneity that you wouldn't get from a scripted video, while still clearly delivering this important message to the viewer.
