@Rob Johnson Thanks for the quick reply. Let me be more specific. I have access to a futuristic looking car, for obvious aesthetic reasons, is it ok to use it, so long as I shoot around any identifiable logos & don't actually mention the car brand by name

We tried to find a balance between speculation and plausibility, with compelling technology in service of customers' needs. We hope video makers bring their own spin and push the thinking further along those lines. -

Sadly I'm not too excited about casting or filming all but one of the concepts. "Holographic Harry" is the clear winner for me, and most open to interpretation. @Rob if I get permission from a car brand (non mainstream) to feature their car, is that ok?

Haha! @Jeff & @Michael, I know I thought my idea was the best ;). I have to say, I'm a little disappointed at how low-fi the winning ideas are, being a major sci-fi geek myself. Just wondering how liberal we can be with changing elements of the story.

We're most interested in stories that feature the types of insurance Allstate provides, including protection for vehicles and homes of various kinds. Life insurance is another major category. -

I didn't win, even though my ideas were clearly superior to everyone else's, so it's obvious that Tongal has not yet perfected this thing. But it's pretty cool to submit ideas straight to a big wig of a Fortune 100 company, w/no filter & for a shot at $$!

2-5 are capable with today's tech. that not sci-fi fiction. You wanted Hard Sci-fi? in 140 words? for a 90 second piece? I understand that this is your project, but you haven't communicated what you wanted and in turned wasted every ones time. -

I see the winning ideas in the hard sci-fi tradition. We're trying to "merge the practical with the fantastical," as described in the overview, to get imaginative stories that are plausible for 2030 and insightful for today. -

I am disappointed in the ideas which got through, Because most of the ideas are not sci-fi and the other one is creatively limiting. You said the ideas were not meant to be an ad or a story? I feel like I just wasted my time listening to the brief.

Agreed, 140 characters forces us to destroy grammar and coherence in the name of brevity. Tongal is not twitter. Why not expand it, or at least limit by WORD COUNT and not characters.
