Like John Madden when he’s reviewing football instant replays, here we have John Madden-like commentators reviewing footage of job interviews. Doing voice overs, they comment on the mistakes that people make in interviews. They mix in sports terms throughout. The commentators use telestrator markers on the screen to illustrate what they are talking about. They also play things in slow motion to highlight certain moments.

Young woman at interiew, clearly nervous. She stumbles over a question, when an electronic voice can be heard. Close up of earbud in woman's ear, then cut to friend at a computer with a phone reading off/giving absolutely terrible interview advice, which the woman follows, causing confused or even negative reactions. Examples: -While employer is talking: "Quick! Ask him about your salary!" -Response to "Where do you want to be in 5 years?": "Hopefully in your position!" And so on.

Try not to trip on you story..
Just think, you are a accident waiting to happen. You come in to do your interview and trip, then the domino affect. You bump into someone with a cup of coffee it spills all over the the boss. He/She jumps up and bumps into someone else with a stack of papers and the papers fly. You stand there and say,"I guess that is a no?" Turns around and starts to walk out, then you start to hear everyone laugh. Not everyone is as serious as you think..

HR DIRECTOR:Tell me about yourself. MAN is about to answer, but his MOM:He’s the best son! HR:What skills do you bring to the position? His WIFE:He puts the toilet seat down. HR:What is your salary requirement? Man's 3 BUDDIES:Enough to buy us a few rounds. HR:Any questions? Man's KID:Did my dad get the job? MAN shakes HR DIRECTOR’s hand good-bye, as his group high-5 and cheer him on. HR pulls MAN aside:You can bring your support group in your head, but maybe not literally to ur next interview?

Like a movie premiere red carpet, potential job candidates walk into an office. For example, a man dressed in street wear, sneakers, bed hair. Joan Rivers-esque commentator:Is he going hobo-chic? A woman dressed in tight, revealing clothes, too much makeup, Jersey Shore hair. Commentator:She's a hot mess! Clean-up on Aisle 7! Someone dressed in a well-fitted suit, nicely groomed hair, resume and references in briefcase. Commentator:Now, that's what I call the top of the class. She's hired!

Our Spot begins with our would be interviewee getting called up for his interview. With a lot of confidence, he swings the bosses door open, crashing into another employee, who then falls back onto another employee, who spills coffee on the printer. The printer begins to malfunction. It shoots out papers, and finally catches on fire. The office begins to panic. One employee lifts the printer and throws it out a window. We hear a loud crash as the boss comes running out screaming "My Car!"

Open on Jen, an exhausted HR rep with her last interview of the day. She takes a look at the tidy one paged resumes,so far so good. She looks up to see Steve, a neatly dressed, bright eyed grad ready to take on the world. We zoom out to see Steve surrounded by his wife, Mother, and bar Buddies. Jen continues to interview Steve. But his entourage answers. "Do you have any questions," Jen.Steve's entourage,"Did he get it?" Jen grins, "We'll give you a call." They shake hands, Steve and co. leave.

This idea sounds fun. We'd like to show a variety of men and women dressed improperly for an interview. We want to have a panel of clothing judges in the boss' office commentating on things like backpacks, fanny packs, sunglasses, headphones, ridiculous looking ties, heavy make-up, dyed hair, mismatched socks, sneakers, etc. The men and women will struggle to get through their interview as the judges cut them off with funny comments. The budget will be spent on props and to help pay the actors.

To make best comedic use of this premise, we will make the friend the focus of the commercial. He's a buffoon who fancies himself a spy movie-type character, but really he's just a guy sitting in the back of a minivan with a laptop. He feeds the interviewee terrible advice and then tries to bail her out by "hacking into the company's mainframe" only to (of course) fail and leave the woman in an embarrassing situation. 1:34-4:47 of the attached pitch video is a storyboard for the commercial.

We’ll intro w/3D animation framing it as a real television program, as we have just returned from commercial. Capture the office environment through angles that mimic a real football game. High angles, long lens close ups. (Refer to 3rd Link) “Madden” speaks from a real field booth. Sports marquee on video with score. Terms such as “Delay of Game” (Saying “Um” a lot) “Encroachment” (Bypassing secretary) “Holding” (Holding handshake too long) Madden calls a “Fumble” that loses the game.
