Can't say I'm super impressed with my first experience with Tongal. AudioSocket services were excellent but I had to re-dub it all out prior to public release.

I think many people on Tongal has a portfolio to show. my portfolio has been made with all my YOUTUBE videos. Next week I need to show My portoflio to a potential customer. and the LEGO avengers is my No 2 Best video I've made. So I how can I do to ???...When can we upload Our videos?
Remington McElhaney
Upload it as a private video and share it that way. Or say "screw it" and do what you want. Youtube is filled with hundreds of Lego stop motion videos without Lego's direct consent.

I haven't been able to find the place in the terms where we signed away the rights to our videos in return for 0 compensation and I'm not even sure that's legal..

I would love to hear an actual explanation of the rules/terms of submitting a video on Tongal, instead of just the vague "Please don't post your videos on Youtube" with no explanation or date given.
1:07PM Nov 03, 2012
Remington McElhaney
If you used content from Audiosocket, I would say you are at Tongal's mercy, or you should remove it. Because as of right now you don't have the rights to use it.

Guys, it's not about "being at Tongal's mercy," it's about respecting the sponsor's wishes and abiding by the contest guidelines. Simply put, the sponsor is not confortable having the videos shared or publicly displayed.9:27AM Nov 05, 2012

Will time change that?9:39AM Nov 05, 2012

I'm confused about how the whole premise of every single LEGO contest has been to encourage Brick-filmmaking, but LEGO now isn't comfortable with that? A large niche of their consumers love LEGO because it is a medium within their means to produce stories and films.9:58AM Nov 05, 2012
Taylor Armstrong
@Caleb Light-Wills
But now the LEGO stance is discomfort? Discomfort with their customers loving their product and inspiring each other? My entry didn't win, but I know its good enough to at least have some kid say "whoa, that was cool. I'm going to try that." That kid would turn to his Lego's.10:00AM Nov 05, 2012
Caleb Light-Wills@Taylor Armstrong
It has to do with the specific IP that was made available as part of this project, i.e., all the Marvel characters, etc.10:00AM Nov 05, 2012

@Caleb Light-Wills
You guys have a new "What does LEGO mean to you" contest. Feel free to enter your own punchline here. Its laughable how bogus I feel about them now.10:01AM Nov 05, 2012
Alexander Blake
@Taylor Armstrong
I really don't think it has anything to do with LEGO, I think it's honestly Tongal more than LEGO. I think LEGO isn't responding to Tongal because they're honestly not concerned anymore at this point with this project as they've already moved on to others.4:47PM Nov 05, 2012
Alexander Blake
@Taylor Armstrong
Also, should you upload your video to YouTube, what is LEGO or Tongal going to do? I do not profit off my videos, and parody is legal in all aspects that aren't slanderous, and for all purposes LEGO Avengers videos are not only parodies of LEGOs as toys, but also of the Avengers4:49PM Nov 05, 2012
Alexander Blake
@Taylor Armstrong
Now, the rules of Tongal do state that your entry is only for use on Tongal as Caleb notified me of via e-mail...HOWEVER, should you change even a single millisecond of your video, your video is no longer the same as your entry and therefore they are two separate entities.4:50PM Nov 05, 2012
Alexander Blake
@Taylor Armstrong
I don't really see how a "Directors Cut" if you will of anyones videos would give Tongal, or LEGO, the permission to prevent anyone from posting these videos.4:53PM Nov 05, 2012
Alexander Blake
I hope my speaking out against this matter doesn't prevent put a negative opinion on me and ultimately let LEGO immediately disqualify any future entries I may have, however if it does, that's a reflection on Tongal and LEGO more than myself.

Why are they not letting us release are videos. It's not like they're going on a DVD release like the DC ones.12:42PM Nov 06, 2012

The contest has come and gone, can't see why we'd be any sort of priority anymore. I've accepted its a lost cause.

Caleb Light-Wills Guys, please keep your videos off of YouTube while LEGO is in the process of sorting out approvals and distribution. Thanks for your cooperation.
Taylor Armstrong
What does this mean? Approvals and distribution potential even for losing videos too?
11:32PM Oct 16, 2012
Will Martinko
When will we be able too???

When do we get to upload our videos to YouTube? I thought we were supposed to find out on October 15th.

What is the official word about publishing our entries onto our own YouTube channels? If we used AudioSocket for the contest, did Tongal acquire the licenses?
-
Nicholas McVay
Why can't we watch the videos?
-
Steven Wells
Huff, didn't win again... :( -
Grant Powderly
When will we be able to see all the submissions?

When will we be given permission to post our entries on YouTube?

Also wondering this. Is there going to be a consolation prize for non-winners? Otherwise if I just take out the AudioSocket music I should have free rights to do with my video what I please.

I'm thinking maybe October 14th is the cut off for winners to accept their prizes and in the event they dont all accept one of us may be the runner up who fills their spot?6:03PM Oct 01, 2012

We should start a YouTube channel for all us losers and call it "B-Sides"8:19PM Oct 01, 2012

It would be nice to have some reasoning as to why we can not post our submissions elsewhere? (Sorry for the bother, I'm just very excited to post this video for others to see).6:06PM Oct 02, 2012
Alexander Blake
@Caleb Light-Wills
Got it thanks, except it's only good for a kid...and i'm 21. I have no kids and i'm too old to use it on myself. Thanks LEGO! Also, you can get the same coupon on a Wendys bag or any LEGO Magazine ever. I'd rather of had a LEGO store coupon.6:16PM Oct 02, 2012
Alexander Blake
@Grant Jones
Yes still waiting to hear why. I'm getting a little antsy. LEGO clearly doesn't have interest in my video so why is Tongal still forbidding us from posting them on the outside? I mean...it's not like I can get disqualified...I already lost.6:17PM Oct 02, 2012
