People in videos?

Are there any other documentation actors/actresses in my video would need to sign, in case I were to win a contest that had them in it? Or does the documentation I sign make me the sole receiver of whatever prize, no matter who else contributed to a video? For instance: Me and Timmy make a video. I direct it, I have the account on Tongal, I upload the video, and sign the forms given to me to sign on the to-do list, ect. Timmy was just IN the video. I win 2,500 in a contest. Timmy thinks we should split the money in half. Does he have the right to get half the money? Or do I need to make other documentation?

Jared, the money is yours. You do not need to have an actor sign anything saying the money is yours. You should know, however, that by submitting a video you are implying consent from anyone depicted in that video. If you are concerned about this, you should probably have your actors sign talent releases found in the important forms found here:

My question is, is it my money soley? Do I need to have other actors sign saying all money is mine? Or once I sign the documents needed, its my money?

Could they file a suit against me? I'm entitled to ALL money, correct?

What if they decide they are obligated to a percentage of the money? They have NO right to a cent, correct?

    Hey Jared,

However you decide to split the money with your friends is up to you. If you win, you fill out the appropriate forms and you get paid. Any subdivision of that prize is between you and whomever else you worked with you on that project.

    Make sense?
