Today, we’re introducing a new series for the Tongal Blongal called “Heard Outside the Tongal Window.”
Tongal HQ sits on the corner of Bay Street and Nielsen in Santa Monica. While we’re close to the beach and in Southern California, the location may seem glamorous, but in reality, we’re dealing with growing as a business and being in the top floor of a historic building* with bad windows and a lot of noise.
There’s a lot of traffic outside our windows, and once in a while we get someone on some sort of California Beach Blanket Vacation fantasy, just blasting some music of a rented Chrysler Seabring.
This post will now serve as a repository/record of all the pure awesomeness pumping out of car windows en route to Malibu and an Endless Summer.
Today, we were treated with “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak. Now, here’s an example of a song that no one could escape from 1989 through about 1994. In all honesty, I don’t think I’ve heard it since, and I have to say, not a bad tune to revisit on a Monday Afternoon. Here’s the video that turned all pre-teens (yours truly included) into Helena Christensen fans…
*The “historic” part is that during the building’s early days at the turn of the century, it housed a brothel–we’re still waiting for some paranormal activity (not out of PA, more like the Dan Aykroyd character’s encounter in Ghostbusters)
