Tongal got some great coverage from GreatStartups.com yesterday. I have to say the Editor did a better job of summing up Tongal then we have been able to. We are hoping that this encourages more members to sign up for the site. One thing we’ve noticed is that the site is getting very high volume in visits, however, we’re not able to convert a high percentage of those visits to members.
We think this may be because we’re letting visitors do too much without logging in/registering. We like that. We don’t want to jam registration down your throats, so, you’ll see that on Monday, that if you’re not registered, you’ll be greeted by a new feature that will suggest that you sign up. This will be easy to decline and let you get on with your business if you have no interest in registering. The main reason for this isn’t so we can try to hype up how many members we have and all that nonsense. We actually are at a stage where our pipeline is so full with Contests (and only filling up more rapidly) that we want to make sure we have the workforce to handle all the work. We’re noticing that the marketplace is responding. Companies seem to want or need Tongal.
Anyway, we’ll let you know how it goes.
