Overview

LendingTree is sending YOU to the Rescue by having the Tongal Community collaborate to create a 30 second commercial that captures its current campaign theme of You to the Rescue and showcases LendingTree’s MoneyRight product as a financial tool that everyone should use.  

LendingTree has recently re-launched their website and brand to extend their products and services beyond mortgages (“When Banks Complete, You Win”) to become a more comprehensive financial resource for loans, credit, insurance, and personal finance. The goal of the “You to the Rescue” campaign is to empower consumers to take control of their own financial destiny by utilizing LendingTree’s online resources to help them make smarter financial decisions, throughout their lives (not just when they are buying a home).

The site offers a new selection of financial tools and has created a superhero “toolbelt” that gives consumers access to all of the new tools. Our goal in this campaign is to highlight the MoneyRight tool – which offers budgeting features and personally tailored advice to help people pay off debt, save for the future, improve credit scores, and better manage money overall. THE CONTEST WILL CONSIST OF THREE PHASES:

PHASE 1: CONCEPT You must submit your Concept for the commercial in 250 characters or less. 

PHASE 2: VIDEO  You must create a 30 second commercial based on ANY of the 5 Winning Concepts.  Each Phase is open to everyone, i.e. you don't have to win the Concept Phase to participate and vice versa. 

PHASE 2A: PREDICTION Everyone is invited to watch the Videos and predict which ones they think will win.

PHASE 2B: MOST VIEWED Whichever Videos get seen the most times online (delivered by Tongal via share, embed or email) within the period of thirty (30) days following the Video submission deadline (on or around November 25, 2009) will win.


Concepts and Videos should be fun/humorous in tone and explain how LendingTree’s financial toolbelt and/or MoneyRight can empower people to take control of their financial destiny. The concepts and videos should be timely and not afraid to address the current economy, but should ultimately show how LendingTree can help “YOU” come to the rescue.  Use your imagination and creativity to show us how everyday people can become their own personal financial superheroes.   The commercials should be educational and informative but most importantly...ENTERTAINING. So…be creative, stand out and HAVE FUN.
