The Legend of Texticle
Frustrated by a nation of people addicted to texting (aka texticles), Patrick Fitzgerald, lead singer of The Governor Fitzys, decided that the best way to express himself was in the form of music. This decision, prompted by a near death experience at the hands of an overzealous texticle, drove Patrick to Los Angeles where he got together with his long time collaborator, multi instrumentalist, and Iranian superstar, Bamboos Pourgol. In a marathon session, reminiscent of Derek and the Dominoes circa ’70, they finally cut the record. Now they want YOU to create the music video for their new hit single, “Texticle.”
The Goal
Using the song and video clips provided in the contest files below, create a music video for the song “Texticle” by The Governor Fitzys. You will note that there is not enough footage to create a music video with just the clips provided below. It’s a video contest for a reason – get out there and shoot!
We are looking for the community to get creative and have fun here. Feel free to play on recent reports regarding the dangers of texting while driving and it’s ill effects on society, etc. This can be used to enhance the narrative (story) of your music video, but don’t feel like you have to limit yourself to these suggestions.
Also, the video itself can be longer than the length of the song to give you some room to tell a story (as an example, think of the opening to “Thriller” or “Sabotage”), but it must use at least some of the video footage we’ve provided. For more on this, please read the general requirements listed below.
