Overview

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world.  Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has."  Margaret Mead

Embracing that call to make a difference, Tyson Foods HungerRelief wants the Tongal Community to create short films that will feed our local communities.

More than 34 million Americans are struggling with hunger. We all know and are in contact with people in our communities who are struggling day to day to feed themselves and their families--though many of us may not even know it.  Hard-working adults, children and seniors often cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even days. Every day thoughtful, committed individuals across the country, and in your backyard, volunteer to keep these people from going hungry.

FEED YOUR COMMUNITY by making a movie.

• Winning video producers will receive up to $2,500 and, most importantly, a truckload of Tyson food products (35,000 pounds!) donated to their local food bank.

• Films should run 1 to 3 minutes in length and should exemplify how people in your community make a difference by dedicating their time to hunger relief. Spotlight the dedicated men, women and children that make your local Feeding America Food Bank a success.

• Tyson Foods will use the winning videos on its web site, blog and other Internet properties to raise awareness of the need for hunger relief and to celebrate Hunger Relief All-Stars across the country.

Videos should be uplifting in tone and explain how real people are making a difference by dedicating themselves to eliminating hunger.  For example: a neighbor who has worked for 40 years to feed those in need without ever being noticed or recognized.  Or, an adolescent who was compelled to spend his weekends raising money at the local mall after learning that some of his classmates were going hungry.  You should spotlight authentic stories of everyday people that Tyson Hunger Relief refers to as their Hunger All-Stars. Videos should show how the food bank operates without getting overly involved in mechanics and logistics.  First and foremost, your film needs to be about PEOPLE.
